Once upon a time, two little girls were making mud pies, learning to ride their bikes, and dumping baby powder on the wooden stairs in their home. This was my lifetime friend Kari and myself. Trouble with a capitol 'T'. We went to school together our entire lives and are still the best of friends. Do I love taking her family portraits? Absolutely! And we always have fun doing it.
Here's a shot that I was trying to get of Kari and her husband, Jason, when Chelsea ran up to be silly and it turned into one of those super awesome unplanned kind of shots. We had the other kids join them, and with everyone facing their matriarch, this is one of my favorite family shots ever.
Those unplanned shots are the ones that I believe always turn out the best. And while Emma was waiting for us to get it together, we saw her sitting by the "crick" (it's cool, we're from Rushville).
The more natural the emotion the better. That's what it's really all about. Jason got Conner rolling while I was taking pics of the two of them. This among the faves..
Kari wanted a photo of all of the kids sitting on a rock in the middle of these flowers. Once Chelsea fell off said rock, is when her pics became fantastic!
Kari and Jason's couple photos may have been my favorites overall, and this trick is trendy, but you've got to admit, this is a great photo.
Here are a couple more of Emma and Conner I chose to add to the blog because I think they are great.
And let's finish with how Jason has a way of making his kids laugh or cringe, or whatever Chelsea is doing here! LOL! And I'm sure she's glad I added it to the blog. Ha!
HaHaHaHa!! I laugh every time I look at this! Enjoy!

Baby Marcus
Baby Marcus. His mother, Ami, is married to Big Dave. Big Dave's brother Mamus has been a friend of mine since high school. Their mother, Shorty, is like a grandmother to my son, Kurt. Confused? That's ok, it's not relevant. He's still cute whether or not you get the connection. :) You know what else is cute? Baby bubbles...
His best friend is Winnie-The-Pooh. Awww...look at him smiling at his mommy.
And he knows he is adorable when he wears his hat. Ok, so maybe Mom thinks he is adorable with the hat, she is right.
I am trying not to lose any of the black and white photo knowledge I gained last semester, so I throw one in every once in awhile. But I love colors so much, sometimes I forget.
Thanks for reading, I'm still working on my blogability. xo

The Sisk's
Ever since I took pictures of Jaime's baby belly I have been shooting lots of families! They are all related to me and/or good friends, but it's kept me busy nonetheless. And since I took belly pictures, Jaime delivered Kingston Thomas and I'm looking forward to visiting him for a baby shoot soon!
Also, Jamie from the 'Sisters' blog is moving TODAY to Charleston, SC. She's been a good friend of mine for almost a decade so I'm so sad to see her leave, but so excited for her at the same time. I'm also sad to see my favorite school projects model leave town. :)
On with some photos and more recent sessions.....
I took photos of the Sisk's first. I met Jason in 1998 when his band, Mr. DNA was playing shows all over town. I love their music to this day, and so glad that I got to know him and his entire family. I shot these in a park on the south east side of Marion County. Here is Jason and Theresa....
They were totally troopers for doing this in the hot hot heat that we were stuck with that day. And don't forget, all three of their children were there too! I took this photo unexpectedly when were finished, and just hanging out talking.
It was so hot that day, that I didn't feel like I captured the kids the way I wanted to, so I went to their house the next week and took a few more. I'm so glad I did because I love the images I came out with from that day!
There are loads more images of mine on my Flickr page.
Thanks for reading and I'll start blogging more, I promise!
